Kristina joined HeadStrong Consulting with an extensive background in sport psychology consulting, coaching, world-level athletic training, and international athletic competition.
Kristina received her MS in Psychosocial Aspects of Sports in 2013, graduating with honors from the University of Utah. She also completed her BS in Exercise & Sport Science and Minor in Nutrition at the University of Utah. Kristina completed her Masters internship by designing, presenting, and implementing sport psychology and mental skills training seminars for a variety of athletes and performers, including figure skaters, gymnasts, Ballet West trainees, alpine skiers, and hockey players. She also taught introductory lectures to undergraduate students at the University of Utah and worked with individual athletes.
Kristina is currently a competitive figure skater and has competed at the International, Collegiate, National, Junior National, Sectional and Regional levels for over 20 years. She is a 5x U.S. Figure Skating Adult National Champion, 2x Senior Ladies Regional Champion, has been ranked among the top 36 figure skaters in the United States for over ten years, and the top 10 in Senior Solo Ice Dance. She has trained at the U.S. Olympic Training Site in Colorado Springs with Olympic level coaches and skaters, currently continues to compete throughout the year, and performs as a guest skater in a variety of professional and amateur events.
Kristina’s competitive and coaching experience assists her own mental performance coaching. Kristina worked with a sport psychology consultant during her own competitive career and hopes to share the same positive experience with aspiring athletes and performers that she has experienced herself. Because she personally endured pressure, nerves, fear, injuries, success, frustration, expectations, media, international/high level competition, Kristina has an excellent understanding of all factors and underlying factors that go into being a successful performer, both physically and mentally. She firmly believes in making the best of every situation and striving for whole-person development.
Kristina is a very passionate, optimistic, dedicated consultant who is committed to assisting athletes (and performers in general) in reaching their full potential in all aspects of life.
